Solid Plantation Teak Worktops - FSC Certified

Tectona grandis

Plantation Teak is a tropical hardwood that is grown exclusively for the purpose of forestry management due to the high demand of Teak. So put simply, it’s grown to ensure sustainability and to have less environmental impact; something that Pure Tree are passionate about.

With Teak being both durable and naturally water resistant, it has historically being used for outdoor decking and furniture – basically anything that is exposed to the elements for long periods of time.  This has led to it being in huge demand.

Using the same growing conditions, Plantation Teak is fairly identical to Teak. It can be grown without artificial fertilisers and this is thought to be one of the reasons why Plantation Teak has the look and durability of Teak from South East Asia. Plantation Teak is grown throughout the world’s dry tropical zones.

So why do we use Plantation teak?

Plantation Teak is the perfect wood for both kitchen and bathroom worktops due to its natural resins. Our Plantation Teak worktops offer a rich brown colour with darker chocolate-brown markings.

Resourcing our wood carefully

All of the wood that we use has FSC certification. This means that we can trace the origin of the wood from the forest to your finished worktop. This ensures the quality of the wood itself and on a wider scale, we know that as a business, we are working ethically with social and environmental benefits.

We offer a range of styles for your Plantation Teak worktop – choose from Block style, Wide Stave, End Grain Block Style and End Grain Wide Stave. Our Plantation Teak worktop is available with a Nature grade.

It's all about choice - from the wood to the grade to the finishing touches - create your own bespoke worktop.
